Audrey gets busy....

Today's Bingo entry comes from Audrey M.  Even though Audrey has been involved in miniatures for a number of years now, she has never used a Dremel tool before.  Today she shows us how she got brave enough to use the tool to drill holes for holding her paints that she uses in making her wonderful miniatures.  I'm not exactly sure what kind of container she is using but it looks interesting!

In addition, I have taken the liberty of filling in another Bingo square on Audrey's behalf - the one that deals with contributing to the mini community by writing an article or planning a mini event.  As one of the organizers for Camp Mini Ha Ha, I think she qualifies for that square.

So - if you are interested in seeing all the Bingo cards to date, click on the label for Completed Bingo Cards 2018 in the column to the right.  If you haven't entered yet, there's still a few months left to get your Bingo entries in!  Remember - there will be two prizes:  one for a Camper who was at the 2017 Camp and is returning in 2018 and a second one for a 2017 Camper who is not able to make it to this year's Camp.  Winners will each receive a $50 gift certificate to Grandpa's Dollhouse - something we can all use!

Garry R. is on a roll!

With our extremely cold weather and back-to-back storms keeping many of us indoors - some have taken advantage of their confinement to do what they love best:  work on minis!

With today's entries, Garry R. gets to fill in three more of his Bingo squares:

1. Create an indoor/outdoor scene.

Although Garry started this project before the beginning of this year's Bingo Challenge, he has put the time in to complete this indoor/outdoor scene subsequent to returning home after our 2017 Camp.

This "red-neck" house trailer pairs up nicely with his "red-neck" houseboat he built a few years ago.

Inside:
Hey Louise - I see the flamingo paper towel holder on the counter.  What a nice example of how our tidbits are put to good use in the projects of our fellow Campers.

Built-in bunks and lots of stereotypical "red-neck" decorative items:

Outside provides lots and lots of things to take in:

And, as per Garry's personal signature element, of course we find a dog lounging on one of the few cleared-off surfaces in the scene.

What a great, fun project, Garry!  Thanks for sharing.

And now for entries 2 and 3 in this post, both of which utilize an Altoid's Tin:

2. Altoid tin for Garry to keep:

and 3. A gift for a friend:

What fun you've been having, Garry, while chasing away the late-winter blues!  How about everyone else??  Anyone else finding the time to work on projects that can count in your Bingo Challenge?  Be sure to share your results - we all love seeing what everyone is working on.

Steampunk - out with the new and in with the old!!!

That's one of the best, short descriptions of Steampunk that I've ever read.  That and "Steampunk is what happens when Goth finds brown".  Love them both - just as I love this latest Bingo entry in the category of "make a lighted mini".

Garry R., our Camper who built this great little piece tells us:

"This is a steampunk boiler room.  It has a ceiling light, a flashing light inside the boiler and a red light behind the steampunk dog."

What fun!  Leave it to Garry to come up with something completely unique when thinking about producing a lighted mini!  I love it.  Thank you for sharing it, Garry.

To see larger versions of any pictures in this blog, just click on the picture itself.  To see how the Bingo cards are shaping up, click on the label in the column to the right that says "Completed Bingo Cards 2017/18"

If you haven't sent any entries in yet, you still have close to 6 months before we meet at Camp again so there's still lots of time.  Thank you everyone!

The adventures of Mr. & Mrs. Thwumpett....

What a wonderful entry this morning from our Miss Kelly P.  Here she provides us with a peek into the finished home of Mr. & Mrs. Thwumpett.

"Well the gardener has a few plants yet to plant but the garden centre will not be open for a few months. Mrs. Thwumpett has been served breakfast in bed by Mr. Thwumpett, who then tidied up the dishes before heading out to work. Happy wife, happy life!" - Kelly

What a charming little home.  I think I could live there myself!

Wasn't this a great way to start our mini day today?  Thank you, Kelly.

Aren't ghouls too cool for school?

Okay - so that's a very poor attempt at becoming a poet however - tonight's entry certainly makes up for my lack of literary talent by showcasing the mini talents of our imaginative friend - Mary M.

Filling in the Bingo square for "Create a celebration-themed project" is Mary's wonderful Halloween entry - a little "Ghoul School" .  At first glance this looks like an adorable little cottage - until we see the collection of not-so-normal items hanging from the fence posts and filling in the garden area.

Even Mary appears a little nervous as she peeks out carefully from behind her sign.

I wonder what ghoul children learn at school.  Introductory Grave Robbing??  Corpsicles - how to prepare the ultimate ghoul dessert????  Hmmm - - not really sure I want to know!!

Regardless of what these creatures are studying, Mary has given them a great learning environment. And the good news is...ghouls don't like fresh meat so she's quite safe!  Thank you for sharing, Mary.
