Five people - 9 Bingo boxes filled in!

Hello everyone.  Here we are catching up on the entries received this last month.  Tonight we have entries from 5 different people which, in total, fill in 9 different squares on the Bingo cards.  So - without further delay we have:

1. Julie J.

Julie has sent in her entry for finishing this latest Camp project - and what a beautiful job she did!  She call her little Faery house the Mushroom Cottage.

Isn't it lovely??  Any fairy would love living here, I'm sure.

I love the little "wings" on the wall (maple keys - what a great idea).

The stone floor looks so realistic doesn't it?  That's because it is!  These are tiny bits of shale rock picked up at Camp from the wonderful supply of natural materials that were provided.  They found a perfect home here in Julie's cottage.

And here's a quiet little corner the resident fairies can escape to for a little private time!  Julie says that: "Driftwood, shells and rocks were found on the Bay".  The "Bay" Julie is referring to here is the beautiful Bay of Fundy.  It's so nice to know that every time she looks at her wonderful little cottage she'll be reminded of a beautiful sunny day on the beautiful East Coast of Canada!

Regardless of where she got all of her materials - she certainly put them to good use.  Great job, Julie.

2. Debbie P.

Debbie, our contest winner from last year, enters this year's contest by filling in the square for making furniture from scratch:

Debbie tells us:  "I made 1/2 scale bedside tables from walnut to go with my bed.  The clock is a 1/2 scale mantle clock I made, but this one I put on bells as a 1/12 scale alarm clock."

How rewarding is that - to be able to make our own furniture and accessories?  I think it's a great test of our skills and Debbie has demonstrated this very well with her latest entry.  Thanks, Debbie!

3. Iris R.

For Iris's first entry she tells us:  "Got my cottage finished, it was SO much fun & I'm delighted with the finished project! I’ll be bringing this to camp so the details can be better appreciated."  We will certainly be looking forward to that!  I can hardly wait to see this beauty from all the different angles.

Iris also sent in a second entry with this explanation: "Here is an Altoids tin done like a mini housing menagerie. I used the left over wood from a 1/2 scale dresser kit that would have been garbage ( left over pieces on the lid). So instead of checking off box for recycled material, I checked off ‘Altoids’ tin.

What a unique and beautiful rendition of using an Altoids tin - I love it!

4. Garry R.

Garry's Camp project is also finished.  His Troll House makes use of so many natural materials and must be seen up close and personal to really appreciate the detail in it.  Perhaps we'll all get a chance to see it at Camp??

It's hard to see in this picture but, in the outhouse attached to the side of the Troll House (above), there is a glittering red glow coming from the brimstone which can be seen below the holes in the seat.  Now that would keep your butt toasty during a winter-time visit to the outhouse, wouldn't it?

In addition to checking off the square for finishing his Camp project, Garry also gets to cross off the square for making a water feature......

This stagnant puddle is surrounded by evidence of human existence - the old tire on a rusted wheel, broken signs, discarded bricks, wood and other refuse - all so realistically depicted!!  Great job, Garry.

Garry's 3rd entry is for selling an item for more than it costs to make.  One of the things Garry loves to do is to make signage.  He was asked to make a selection of signs for a fall scene.  These are the result:

5. Marilyn D.

Yes - the final two Bingo squares to be checked off are for me - I decided to enter this year as well - we'll just make sure there is an independent person drawing the winning names when the time comes!

First - I wanted to make a Christmas gift for a good friend based on an inspiration photo I had of a real-life piece of furniture.  This is my inspiration photo of the real-life modern étagère I fell in love with...

... and this is my version in 1:12th scale:

I used this to fill in the square for making a piece of furniture from scratch.  Now I want to make one for myself!!!  It was so much fun.

My second entry is actually for creating a gift.  This was made from a standard unfinished cabinet from Michael's.

I made the tiny Christmas tree and pedestal on top of the cabinet and I used some items received as tid-bits from fellow Campers - the candy dish I believe was done by Linda S., and the yummy cake was made by Tracey R.  The little gold Christmas tree was a gift from Krista W.  I gave the cabinet as a gift at our Club's gathering at Little Christmas.

So - I think I am finally all caught up but if I missed someone, please let me know.  Don't forget to check the completed Bingo cards by clicking on the label in the column on the right.  We have way more entries so far than we had at the same time last year.  Let's see just how many we can get!

Thank you everyone for sending in your pictures and also for your patience in waiting for them to be loaded!!! Please keep the entries coming!   - Marilyn
